April 11, 2014: The new Vietnam Memorial will be the backdrop as Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signs three bills relating to military families into law next week.

One of the bills amends the state’s veterans court, which emphasizes rehabilitation over incarceration for redeployed Soldiers. The second bill encourages medical facilities to make a good faith effort to join the southern regional TRICARE network, the health care program serving uniformed service members, retirees and their families. The third bill allows full-time military personnel on active duty and their dependents to be considered residents of the state for the purpose of getting certain hunting and fishing licenses.

The bill signing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall on the museum’s east side. The public is invited to attend.
